Reducing cognitive load in a data-heavy workforce product

Overview

JobDone is a B2B employee management platform that supports workforce planning, time tracking, reporting, and internal communication across web, mobile, and tablet. The product serves companies of different sizes and industries, each with its own rules, workflows, and expectations. The main challenge was designing an interface that could handle a large amount of data and functionality without overwhelming users or fragmenting their workflows.

I worked on JobDone as a Product designer, owning UX, visual, interaction, and multi-device design. My focus was on reducing cognitive load, preserving context while users make decisions, and creating scalable patterns for a growing platform. This included designing a flexible design system and introducing side-sheet patterns that allowed users to complete complex tasks without constantly switching pages. The result was a more structured, predictable experience that supports both current needs and future expansion.
